Planted firmly in the heart of every orphan is a root of rejection and abandonment that screams out… YOU. ARE. ALONE. The root wraps an icy cold clutch around a desperately hungry heart. Comfort is found in the dark, where nothing can magnify the imperfections. Comfort is found in solitude, where there is no source for rejection…. except the small voices, in your own head… the ones that never go away……..

You. Are. Alone. You were not enough. I was not enough. I didn’t want you. I couldn’t keep you. I am gone. You are alone. There is nothing. Absolutely nothing…. That can quell that stabbing voice ….. nothing that can ease that aching heart.

Romans 8:15b-16 The Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
When you know who you are and to whom you belong, when you know that NOTHING, absolutely nothing, can separate you from the love of a protecting, gentle, nurturing, encouraging, embracing, Father…… When you know you were created with purpose and intention. … You are empowered to cross the threshold … to leave a place of grasping and flailing and enter into a place of receiving and giving life. You can walk in peace and security. He and all of His greatness now resides in and works through you, in spite of any perceived failures or inadequacies on your part. When you surrender to the One who loves and created you….the world is filled with light and hope. He is great, within you. Christ in you, the hope of glory!
The very love and light that pried the icy cold clutch from around your heart…… the very love and light that reached into your own darkness and solitude ….. now fills you. You are now, the hope of glory.
You are NOT alone.
Let your light shine, give it away, allow it to multiple. It is now your turn to proclaim good news to the poor, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
