Highland homesWe all need roots and wings. At Highland Homes, participants become family members. We provide housing and mentorship for youth who are aging out of foster care. While youth ages 18-23 are under Highland Home’s supervised care, they will receive guidance through their next phase of acclimating to full independent living. Young adults will learn how to work and live within community, both immediate and at large. Upon exit of agency care they will have ongoing support from their acquired family at Highland Homes to celebrate milestones and accomplishments. If they desire, they will have a place to return home for holidays and when feasible, in crisis. Youth who successfully complete the program will have resources for independent housing to include all financial requirements for rent, basic utilities, necessary furnishings and staples for at least one month. They will have a post completion plan of employment and/or higher education. They will have the foundational/relational roots to grow and the transitional tools to flourish.
